FiLLi Cafe is a cafe that is originally in Dubai and it is currently so popular in TikTok. They sell Indian food. So was this the best Indian street food I have ever tried, or is this simply overrated?

What is FiLLi Cafe?

FiLLi Cafe is a cafe that sells sandwiches, snacks and drinks. The signature item is the Zafran tea. We went to the branch in Marylebone, London.

My Experience And What I Ate:

Chicken Dynamite Pizza (£10.99)

This pizza can only be described in one word: delicious! Firstly, the pizza looked awesome with a drizzle of the orange sauce and it had a nice orange-brown colour. This pizza had a juicy texture and the flavours were outstanding. I would highly recommend this pizza and I would rate it a 5/5. However, the pizza can really fill up one person or maximum two people as the pizza was not that large in size.

Chicken Fill Z (£5.29)

Next up was the burger, which was the low of this cafe. This burger looked like a pretty standard small burger on the outside. On the inside, it was sticky and red inside with little flavours and the bread was just standard. Overall, this was underwhelming so I would rate this a 2/5 and I would not recommend this.

Manchurian Foodles (£6.99)

However, do not fret, because this was one of the most unique dishes I have tried and gosh, it was amazing! It was a 5/5 because this dish had an egg on top which melted like honey and on the inside, the noodles were packed with spice and flavour, which was nicely washed down with the Zafran tea I had separately It was in this small container and the portion size was good too. Absolutely fantastic dish!

Medium Iced Spiced Zafran Chai Lemonade (£4.99)

This chai lemonade was brilliant! Firstly I have to appreciate the most unique packaging of this drink. To open this drink felt like a new experience because the drink was in a ziplock bag and I had to weave the straw through the hole and drink this. This tea has a nice yellow colour and it was so sweet, cold and soothing. It was the perfect way to cool down the spice from the savoury foods. Would give this another 5/5 because of its unicity and originality!

What did I like about FiLLi Cafe?

  • This cafe was definitely very unique. You had to go up a flight of stairs and there were well lit smaller sofas on the sides where you could look down on the windows, where my sister and I decided to sit. There were also tables on the middle for bigger families and gatherings.
  • It was well lit and it was orange and black in colour.
  • The staff were a bit tired and unbothered and the waiting times were a bit long, but they still provided great food, which is what I needed so I cannot complain!

What didn’t I like about FiLLi Cafe?

  • As I said, the staff and the service was a bit slow, especially as we went at lunchtime. Otherwise, there was nothing wrong with the cafe!

Would I Recommend It?

I would recommend this cafe 100% as it really brought out some new Indian food, different from the previous afternoon teas I have tried. I just recommend not taking the burger but apart from that, all the other items were great and filling! Also, it was very modern and the environment and atmosphere was nice for me and my sister to have our girly chats.

My Rating: 5/5

Franco Manca Review / Worth The Money? https://surobiscribbles.com/franco-manca-review-worth-the-money/ Sat, 31 Jul 2021 21:10:30 +0000 http://surobiscribbles.com/?p=1274 On 7th June 2021, my sister and I decided to try another restaurant after our small meal in Tortilla. We ate some Italian pizza from Franco Manca. But was the pizza really that authentic Italian pizza we were looking for?

What is Franco Manca Westfield Stratford?

Franco Manca is a sourdough Neapolitan pizza business operating around 50 pizzerias in the UK and Italy.

What I Ordered And My Opinions On It:

Roasted courgettes, ricotta, British mozzarella, roasted baby plum tomatoes and Franco & Cantarelli Grana [no tomato base] £7.95 V NEW

This was a premade pizza or option 3 pizza we tried. These were the ingredients in the pizza. It cost £7.95. Overall, the pizza was 12” and it was absolutely delicious. It was executed really nicely and the pizza looked quite white but with pieces of cheese on top. This really felt quite Italian-style. In terms of taste, the cheese was creamy and the pizza in itself was juicy. I really enjoyed it!

The Place:

The shop was medium size but obviously you can’t enter – it is a stall. We ate in the seating areas available in the court, in which there was a lot of space.

The Service:

The waiting time was about 10-15 minutes. It was a bit longer than we expected, but eventually we did get the pizza.

Would I Recommend It?

I would recommend trying this because it is quite rare to find authentic pizza like this and it was very creamy.

My Rating: 4/5

My Rating System:

⅕ – was below average and would not recommend even trying once

⅖ – the food was average and would not recommend trying

⅗ – the food was delicious but would recommend trying maximum once

⅘ – the food was really good and would recommend trying here

5/5 – the food was outstanding and is one of my favourites!

Fireaway Pizza Leyton / A Remarkable Experience? https://surobiscribbles.com/fireaway-pizza-leyton-a-remarkable-experience/ Fri, 30 Oct 2020 20:34:31 +0000 http://surobiscribbles.com/?p=858 On Wednesday 28th October 2020, I and my two friends went to Fireaway Pizza Leyton which was an Italian Pizza restaurant. This was quite different from the other restaurants I had been to. In this article, I will be reviewing this place and sharing my own personal experiences in this shop:

What is Fireaway Pizza?

Fireaway Pizza is a pizza restaurant in Leyton. It gives ‘artisan pizza in 180 seconds’. It is promised to give ‘authentic Italian fast fried pizza with an innovative twist.’

What I Ordered And My Opinions On It:

  • I was quite skeptical in the beginning as I didn’t really feel like having pizza but I went along with my friends and it was fine.
  • I ordered a ‘Firestarter’ meal deal and this included a signature pizza and a milkshake. A signature pizza was a pizza that had pre selected ingredients and toppings instead of you building your own pizza. It also contained a milkshake. The price of this meal deal was £11.99.
  • The signature pizza I selected was ‘the Greek pizza’ which according to this link contained a tomato base, mozzarella, feta cheese, black olives, red onions and oregano. It was quite delicious and quite unique from other pizzas. The cheese melted in my mouth and was quite appetising. There were 8 slices in the 12” pizza.
  • The milkshake I had was ‘the Oreo milkshake’ which felt quite similar to McDonalds Oreo McFlurry and was pretty tasty and chocolaty.

The Service:

In the store, I and my friends were the only customers eating in. Some customers came to take away but altogether, it was pretty quiet and empty. There were also very few staff working, so it took a bit of time for them to prepare the food.

The Place:

The restaurant was pretty clean and was a bit small, but it was empty when we went so it didn’t really matter. The decor was quite nice and the colour theme was red.

Would I Recommend It?

Yes, I would slightly recommend it because the restaurant did serve some pretty good and unique food. If you are a fan of pizza, you will probably love this place but since I am not the biggest fan of pizza, it was pretty okay for me.

My Rating: 3.5/5
