Tortilla Restaurant Review / The Best Mexican Food In London?

On 7th June 2021, my sister and I decided to try a new restaurant in the world food court in Westfield Stratford. We decided to try some Mexican food! As a person who has heard of tacos and burritos, I felt quite excited. We tried Tortilla. But did it live up to my expectations?

What is Tortilla Westfield Stratford?

Tortilla Westfield Stratford is promised to sell authentic and traditional street food of California-style Mexican food.

What I Ordered And My Opinions On It:

Chicken Hot Tacos

Each taco costs £5.85. We tried three tacos and they were so colourful and appetising. It was executed quite quickly so it was a bit messy. In terms of taste, it was so delicious and flavourful with the right kick of spice. I rated this a 5/5 because of its spectacular taste.

Beef Mild Hot Burrito

This cost about £6-£7. This was also executed quite quickly so again the ingredients were pouring out. I thought the bread was very average and the overall dish tasted like a standard burrito and it is not really that worth trying – I rated this a ⅖.

Nachos

The nachos cost around £5.80. These were some crisps style and they were very crunchy but they didn’t contain much flavour. I rated this a ⅗.

The Place:

The shop was medium size but obviously you can’t enter – it is a stall. We ate in the seating areas available in the court, in which there was a lot of space.

The Service:

The waiting time was about 2-5 minutes. However, I must say that I was not happy with how the staff rushed us to get the toppings for the food. Since my sister and I don’t regularly eat Mexican food, we wanted to ask a few questions to the staff, but unfortunately, the staff did not allow us to do this and we ended up choosing random toppings. I wish that they would give us a bit more time to make our decisions.

Would I Recommend It?

I would recommend trying this for the tacos as they were fabulous and possibly the nachos. However, it is only worth coming once.
