My poem on 2020

For those of you who think that the year 2020 has been hectic and very different, that is completely okay. But for those of you who think that this year has been the worst, that is wrong.

Yes, 2020 may have felt like a knife killing people’s lives, yes 2020 may have felt like a place of anger after George Floyd’s death, yes 2020 may have been a year where you were confined to the four walls in your room, but don’t look at it like that.

Look at it like this: this COVID-19 is just a test for everyone and you have to just believe in yourself, God and follow the rules that your government tells you. The Black Lives Matter riot was an opportunity to speak up about the unsolved issue of racism in society and the lockdown and staying at home may have taught you some things you never would have to learn otherwise.

It is not 2020’s fault so don’t blame it on 2020. 2020 is a time of reflection.

Please don’t give up.

It is not the end of this battle but it is the start of a new journey.

The future is uncertain and unprecedented but it will allow us to maybe just adapt to change.
