Word-On-The-Water / The Ultimate Place For Book-Lovers

I love nature and I love books so on Sunday 4th April 2021, I decided to go to a special bookshop on the water. However, was this the perfect combo?

What is Word-On-The-Water?

Word-On-The-Water is described to be a ‘quirky bookstore on a canal barge offering indoor & outdoor shelves for a wide variety of titles’.

What did I like about Word-On-The-Water?

The canal was very beautiful, especially when it was sunny.
There were seating areas so you could sit down.
It is quite a creative idea, and a good place to relax and chat to your loved ones near the canal (there were also more areas above the canal to sit and relax too).

What didn’t I like about Word-On-The-Water?

The pavement next to the canal was quite narrow, so it is very easy to fall into the canal if you are not careful.
The bookshop was quite crowded and you can’t really enter it.
It wasn’t very accessible, so I did not buy any books.

Would I recommend it?

No, I would not recommend it because even though the idea is creative, it was quite cramped and not too impressive. At the same time, it can be quite dangerous to go near the canal where there are no barriers.
