15 Lessons From Prophet Sheath (pbuh) / The Prophets Series Of Ramadan 2020

“Indeed successful are the believers those who in their prayer are humble and those who keep themselves aloof from Vain (words and deeds).” (23:1-3).

Assalamu alaikum, fellow Muslims and non-Muslims.

We may all know the importance of the Qur’an, the Holy Book written by Allah (SWT). However, we may not necessarily follow the teachings of the Qur’an and follow the role models that were sent to the Earth to spread the word of Islam. In order to remind you of the important lessons taught by each of the significant prophets mentioned in the Qur’an, I will In Sha Allah, be starting a prophets series. This will contain lessons I learnt from each of the prophets.

This Ramadan, our second prophet is uncommon but significant to know about, Sheath (pbuh). If you would like to know the story, sources are available below. If I also make any mistakes, I apologise and Allah (SWT) knows the best.

Sheath means gift. He replaced Abel.

After the death of Abel, Adam replaced him with his son Sheath to spread and remind the people about the word of Islam.

You should rule according to Allah’s law.

Allah is the One who rules everything so rule according to what He says.

Your bad traits may pass on to the next generations.

For example, after Cain moved away from Adam (pbuh)’s tribe, his generations committed the next evil acts as they were encouraged/inspired by their ancestor Cain.

It is prohibited to mix with the other people (women in Cain’s were good-looking).

This is why in Islam you shouldn’t attend night parties with a mingling of opposite sexes.

Shaytan designed a flute and a drum and made sounds which were the cause of music.

Even the simplest sounds can trigger the body.

Music makes you engrossed into it and creates evil and you can forget about Allah.

Music commits other evil acts and people start thinking about music rather than remembering Allah.

Every part of your body reacts to music.

This made people start to dance and move their bodies.

It is Haram to attend discos.

Many people nowadays go to discos and pubs, where it is extremely accessible to engage in Haram.

Shaytan created a doubt on Sheath’s men of the law of Allah.

Shaytan can create doubts in your head.

Do not gaze at the opposite sex or even attend discos as men of Sheath looked at the women.

Sheath’s men looked at the opposite gender and this encouraged them to go in and look.

Tabarruj – women started to display their beauty.

Shaytan gives temptations to women to display their beauty to attract men.

Men and women can intermingle very quickly.

This is due to the temptations by Shaytan and our hormones.

Adultery and fornication began. Music caused adultery. This sin was collective.

Adultery is 100% Haram and it started due to music.

The Shaytan is patient and made them commit sins. ‘Do not follow the footsteps of the Shaytan.’

The Shaytan is very slow and knows the human mind, and we have to be very cautious around him.

Not all the prophets are mentioned in the Quran.

After Sheath (in order) came Enos, Kinan, Mihlail (first to cut trees and big castles), and Jarrod. Then came Idris.

These were some of the lessons that I captured from Sheath (pbuh). The story of Sheath (pbuh) is beautifully said in this Youtube video and book which I used to create this article:

Please share this article with your family and friends to get some rewards this Ramadan. In Sha Allah, you will stay well.

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!
