“The supplication is the essence of worship.” (Jami’ at-Tirmidhi)

By the mercy of Allah, last year, this specific Ramadan article was very popular and I am truly grateful to Allah that people are searching up Duas. This is why this year, I wanted to add some extra Duas to this list to gain more rewards for myself and you In Sha Allah.

Who here wants to grab the maximum rewards available during Ramadan? I definitely do. Saying Duas (supplications) can open the window of rewards and capture these invaluable moments.

We can make Dua in any language as long as we remember that it is not about how long the Dua is or how much time it consumes, it is about its meaning and the intention behind it.

Before I start this article, I would just like to give you a few tips to help you to recite these Duas.

  1. Try to memorise the Duas mentioned below if you can.
  2. Have a specific time in the day where you can sit down and read this Duas or recite them while doing chores. For example: after praying, while waiting or while washing the dishes.
  3. Write some Duas in small post-it notes or cards. Stick them around the house including Duas entering and exiting the toilet and so on.
  4. Try to face the Qiblah while reciting these Duas and don’t recite them too loudly.

Now without any further ado, let’s see some of these Duas.

How to Prepare For Eid-ul-Fitr // My Ramadan Series https://surobiscribbles.com/how-to-prepare-for-eid-ul-fitr-my-ramadan-series/ Sat, 01 Jun 2019 15:00:46 +0000 http://surobiscribbles.com/?p=247

Jabir ibn Abdullah reported:

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would return on the day of Eid by using a different route from which he came.

We have finally come to the last Ramadan article of the year…In Sha Allah, we will live to see another Ramadan. But for today’s article, I wanted to write a very exciting article on how to prepare for Eid-ul-Fitr. As exciting as Eid may be, it does come with a lot of preparation and in order to make sure you can make the most out of the day, you should plan ahead. So today, I will be giving you a step-by-step guide on how I like to prepare for Eid which will hopefully help you guys out. I will also give you guys a rough overview of what to do on Eid and how to manage your time.

But before I start, remember that you should not spend too much time preparing for Eid because it is also the last ten days of Ramadan when you can gain blessings. Don’t fall into the traps of the devil by preparing too much instead of worshipping Allah. If you want to know more about this, check out my article:

Buy your outfit, makeup and accessories

It is Sunnah to buy or wear your best clothes and go out to see your friends, family and relatives looking and smelling good. This will help you to feel excited for the day which will make you feel happy.

Decorate your house

You don’t have to splurge all your money on decorating but by adding a new vase of flowers or by giving a simple touch to your room can make you feel different and remember about Eid.

Plan on what you will do on Eid

Eid can sometimes become a bit hectic if you don’t plan ahead, so by knowing what time you will wake up or when people are coming to your house will help you to be prepared.

Prepare your gifts

Eid is a time of joy and expecting gifts from each other. It is good to prepare some gifts for everyone as seeing that smile on their face from receiving your gift is amazing in itself. For the children, you can also give an extra small bag of candy.

Invite others

Inviting others will help you to meet up with your old relatives and let them have some amazing food cooked by you or your parents. Send invitation cards, call or text your relatives to invite them to your house (remember to ask your parents first though).

Prepare the food

It is good to cook some dishes the night before Eid to make sure that you don’t get too busy cooking in the morning of Eid. Some prepare the sweet dish for breakfast the night before to wake up to a lovely breakfast.

Make sure to relax and don’t worry too much about how the day is going to go because you don’t want to stress out. It is a brilliant feast and time for breaking the routine for fasting.

T I P S  F O R T H E  D A Y O F E I D

  • Don’t miss the Eid prayers. I know of many who miss the Eid prayers because they forget about all that they have done during Ramadan. Remember, Eid is not the time for you to stop all your good habits from Ramadan, it’s just the start. Then you can go home, wash up and dress in your new outfits.
  • Give to charity. By giving Eidi to the younger ones and giving charity to the poor can make sure you are not forgetting about the power of charity even on Eid.
  • Spend time with your family and relatives. This is what Eid is all about so enjoy it!

Those were my tips on how to prepare for Eid. Make this Eid the best Eid yet! And little disclaimer: Eid is not about showing off and forgetting your etiquettes of Ramadan, remember all the good that you have done in the past month. If this article helped you in any way, please share it with your family and friends so that In Sha Allah you get the reward too. If you enjoyed this article, check out my other articles too:

How To Maximise Your Rewards For Laylatul Qadr (The Night Of Power) // My Ramadan Series https://surobiscribbles.com/how-to-maximise-your-rewards-for-laylatul-qadr-the-night-of-power-my-ramadan-series/ Sun, 26 May 2019 15:31:59 +0000 http://surobiscribbles.com/?p=244 Allah says in the Qur’an:

“The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.” [Qur’an: 97:3-5]

Masha Allah, we have made it to the last ten days of Ramadan 2019. We should be grateful to experience such a spiritual and rewarding time of the year.  But what is even more exciting is that the last ten days of Ramadan holds a special day – Laylatul Qadr. Laylatul Qadr is the time to earn endless blessings.

But first, what is Laylatul Qadr?

Laylatul Qadr is ‘The Night Of Power’ when the first verses of the Qur’an were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). This day falls on one of the odd nights in the last ten days of Ramadan. Because we don’t know which specific date it is, Muslims are advised to pray and seek forgiveness from Allah during the last ten days, in order to hopefully land on that special night and earn rewards. It is a brilliant opportunity to change your scales for the Hereafter. As mentioned in the Hadith above, whatever good you do will be equal to doing it for approximately 83 years. This is immense.

So now we shall go on to the tips on how to make the most out of this night.

What to supplicate in Laylatul Qadr

Best dua of the last 10 nights: اَللَّهُمَّ اِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ ، تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

(O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness; so forgive me).

Give to charity

Charity is an important element in Islam and makes you earn many rewards. By giving little charity that you can afford every day in the last ten days of Ramadan, can make you get the reward equal to 83 years.

Keep your schedule as free as possible

By having fewer tasks to do during the last ten days will help you to spend more time in prayer. You can spend time reading the Qur’an, praying and seeking forgiveness from Allah.

Try not to waste time on useless tasks and don’t procastinate

Procastinating is something that all humans do but try to cut this off during this precious time. Be aware of your social media usage, or wasting time in general.

Walk to the Masjid if you pray Isha in the mosque (if possible)

This means that if you walk to the Masjid, it will be equal to walking for 83 years!

Go over the Tasbih several times (do Dhikr)

Recite different supplications and praise Allah as much as you can using the Tasbih.

Read the Qur’an

We celebrate Laylatul Qadr because of the Qur’an, so spend time contemplating on the deeper meaning behind the Qur’an and recite the words.

Have Iftar with your family

Having Iftar with your family is very beneficial if you spend a lot of time studying or working late hours. Use the last days wisely.

Relect on this Ramadan

As this amazing month is ending sadly, we should take the time to reflect on what good we have done this Ramadan and start planning for the next year. In Sha Allah, we will live to see another Ramadan where we can be even better than this Ramadan.

Those were my tips on how to maximise your rewards during the last ten days of Ramadan. If this article helped you in any way, please share it with your family and friends so that In Sha Allah you get the reward too. If you enjoyed this article, check out my other articles too:

Sleepy During Ramadan? Then Read This // My Ramadan Series https://surobiscribbles.com/sleepy-during-ramadan-then-read-this-my-ramadan-series/ Sat, 25 May 2019 15:00:51 +0000 http://surobiscribbles.com/?p=238

“Fasting is a shield with which a servant protects himself from the Fire.” (Hadith, Ahmad).

Are you that person who is always feeling sleepy and tired during Ramadan? Well do not worry because in today’s article, I will be sharing a few tips on how to get enough sleep during Ramadan. Ramadan is the time you have to wake up for Suhoor and also stay awake to eat Iftar in the late night. However, your sleep is also very important to maintain your health and wellbeing, especially if you go to school or work. Here are my tips that will In Sha Allah help you out:

Make a routine that fits sleeping time into your schedule

As a Muslim worker, you may have to go to school or work, do extra homework, find time to relax, make Dhikr AND sleep enough. That can be a lot to fit into your schedule however, if you plan efficiently, it will hopefully work. For example, I would advise sleeping after coming back from school/work, and studying between the hours of Iftar and Suhoor. Do you.

Have power naps

Power naps can make you feel much better. If you are having a lunch break at school, and you school allows you to sleep during the break, take a 20 minute power nap. Set an alarm to make sure you don’t oversleep because research has shown that if you sleep for more than half an hour, you will get into deep sleep and end up feeling tired and groggy.

Have a healthy diet

If you have just had spicy junk food, you are less likely to have the best quality of sleep. Therefore, avoid foods that are unhealthy as they disrupt the quality of your sleep and take longer to digest. If you want more information about how to keep healthy during Ramadan, then check out this article:

Use your weekends to supplement sleep

If you get only 5-6 hours of sleep during the weekdays, use the weekends as your advantage. Have a lie-in until 11am but don’t go any further.

Get a bluelight filter

If you spend a lot of time near screens, set the device to night mode or even get a physical blue light filter. By filtering, it will reduce the the chemistry of the substances that make your eyes feel heavy. It will also give you a better quality of sleep.

Those were my five tips on how to get enough sleep or better quality of sleep during Ramadan. If this article helped you in any way, please share it with your family and friends so that In Sha Allah you get the reward too. If you enjoyed this article, check out my other articles too:

The Blessings of Taraweeh Prayers Explained // My Ramadan Series https://surobiscribbles.com/the-blessings-of-taraweeh-prayers-explained-my-ramadan-series/ Sat, 18 May 2019 15:00:12 +0000 http://surobiscribbles.com/?p=233 The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said:

“Whoever prays Taraweeh with the Imam until he finishes, it will be recorded as if he spent the whole night in prayer.” ( Al-Tirmidhi).

One of the most beautiful blessings of Ramadan that us Muslims get is this special prayer known as Qiyaam or Taraweeh. Taraweeh prayers help the Ummah and all the Muslims to get together and pray, regardless of the gender, race or age. It is a very spiritual time and reminds me that prayer always gives peace to my soul. However, there is more to this special prayer that you may have thought. In today’s article, I will be sharing with you some interesting facts about Taraweeh prayer.

The word Taraweeh means ‘rest and relaxation’

This word means rest and relaxation because back in the days, people used to take a break and rest after every four ra’kats as it is a long prayer.

Your 5 daily prayers are more important than Taraweeh

Your 5 daily prayers are Fardh (obligatory) whilst Taraweeh is Sunnah (recommended). Try your best to do them but your 5 daily prayers should always be the top priority.

The Prophet requested the Taraweeh prayer to be a Sunnah

In the last year of the Prophet’s life, he started praying Taraweeh in the night. Some people prayed that night with him. Since word spread around about this, more and more people started coming to pray this Taraweeh prayer. By the fourth night, the mosque was packed with people wanting to pray Taraweeh and waiting for the Prophet (pbuh). However, the Prophet did not go because he said: “Nothing prevented me from coming out to you except the fact that I feared that it would be made obligatory for you.” (Muslim)

Therefore, this prayer became a Sunnah because not everyone would be able to pray Taraweeh every night.

If you finish Taraweeh with the Imam, you get the reward for praying the whole night

This is an immense blessing. If you go to the mosque to pray Taraweeh, try to pray however many ra’kats the Imam is doing that day and finish your prayer there.

Your past sins will be forgiven if you pray Taraweeh in the night

It has been said in a Hadith that if you pray Taraweeh prayers in the hope of receiving Allah’s rewards, then you will have all your past sins forgiven.

The reward of offering Taraweeh all month can be said to be equal to the reward of performing Hajj

Another amazing reward that you can get from praying Taraweeh consistently every night, is getting the same rewards as performing Hajj. This is a great opportunity for everyone.

Umar (pbuh) asked people to offer in one congregation behind the Imam

After the Prophet (pbuh) had passed away, the Deen was complete and the Taraweeh prayers would not be able to be Fardh. Therefore, Umar (pbuh) made the decision to congregate all the people behind Hazrat Ubay ibn Ka’ab (pbuh). If Muslims performed it with congregation it would bring them the same reward without making the Taraweeh a Fard. Since the time of Umar (RA) the offering of Taraweeh in the congregation has become a part of the daily Ramadan prayers for all the Muslims.

Those were some interesting facts and the history of the Taraweeh prayers. If you learnt something new or this article has helped you in any way, please share it with your family and friends and In Sha Allah, you will be able to gain some rewards too. Check out my other articles too:

How To Ace Your Exams While Fasting During Ramadan // My Ramadan Series https://surobiscribbles.com/how-to-ace-your-exams-while-fasting-during-ramadan-my-ramadan-series/ Sat, 11 May 2019 12:00:29 +0000 http://surobiscribbles.com/?p=223 “Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Ramadan is finally here…but so are your exams. Millions of Muslim students are revising while fasting through the hot hours of Ramadan. As a Muslim student myself, I have collected a few personal tips that have helped me get through the month, alongside hours of revision. Today, I would like to share with you some of my tips and I hope that these help you In Sha Allah to get your work done more easily.

Eat nutritious food

Healthy food means a healthy you so by having an Iftar and Suhoor packed with foods that will give you the energy and brainpower to survive revision is very handy. Try to have foods that will keep you full for longer and will contain protein (but don’t eat too much). Examples include oily fish, eggs, fruits, vegetables and green tea. Don’t miss Iftar and Suhoor. If you want more information about how to eat healthy during Ramadan then check out this article: http://surobiscribbles.com/how-to-keep-healthy-while-fasting-during-ramadan-2019-my-ramadan-series/

Drink fluids

Fluids are so important to help you keep concentrated throughout the day. As I always say, water is the best option so try drinking 8-12 cups of water per day. You can also have soups. It will stop you from feeling dehydrated and tired quicker, so you won’t start procrastinating.

Follow the ⅓ rule

The ⅓ rule is not only used for students but for anyone out there. It is to have ⅓ food, ⅓ water and ⅓ of air (space). This will allow you to eat moderately and keep healthy.

Create a timetable

A timetable is extremely useful for students as you can visually manage your time and plan efficiently. You will also be much more organised. During Ramadan, I would advise sleeping during the daytime after school and revising between the hours of Iftar and Suhoor. This is because you will have more energy after you have eaten rather than a long fasting day after school.

Have longer breaks

Having longer breaks is more efficient while fasting in Ramadan as it will give you time to fuel yourself up. During your breaks, you can do Dhikr or watch an Islamic video.

Prioritise your tasks

Prioritising your tasks is extremely important especially during Ramadan as you must be using your energy and brain power to perform tasks that are sooner rather than later. I would advise studying for exams that are in 3 days or less.

Remove distractions

Removing distractions is vital as it will allow you to get your work done quickly without checking your notifications from Instagram every second.

Reward yourself

After going through a day of work, treat yourself so you feel happy and motivated for the next day. You can have a dessert for Iftar or socialise with your friends while going to the mosque.

Study with friends

Now, this tip can have a few pros and cons. By studying with a group of friends while fasting can help you as you will feel that someone is going through the same struggle as you and you are completing your work. However, this can also have a downside if you are that type of person who gets distracted when you are with your friends.

Make time for Dhikr

Remember that Ramadan is not only about fasting, it is also about creating a strong relationship with Allah (swt). Try to spend time praying the obligatory prayers, reading the Quran and being kind to others because this is a time to gain rewards for the Hereafter.

That was some of my tips on how I personally study while fasting during Ramadan. If you enjoyed this article and it helped you, please share it with your family and friends to gain some rewards In Sha Allah. If you liked this article, check out my other articles like the one below:

15 Hugely Rewarded Deeds In Ramadan 2019 // My Ramadan Series https://surobiscribbles.com/15-hugely-rewarded-deeds-in-ramadan-2019-my-ramadan-series/ Sun, 05 May 2019 15:00:20 +0000 http://surobiscribbles.com/?p=219

“….And whoever performs an obligatory act during it (Ramadan), he is like whoever performed seventy obligatory acts in other times.” (Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah)

As we already may know, Ramadan is the month of forgiveness and mercy and the time to become the best version of yourself to gain rewards from Allah. Therefore, we want to do simple tasks that can help us gain those rewards for this life and the Hereafter. This is the reason why in today’s article I would like to share with you 15 deeds that can help you to gain rewards and be spiritual in this blessed month.

Perform your obligatory prayers

As simple as it may sound, you must perform your obligatory prayers during Ramadan as it is a pillar of Islam and can give you rewards. So many people still don’t pray regularly during Ramadan, so In Sha Allah, we can change this as soon as possible.

Do Dhikr

Dhikr is the remembrance of Allah. It is important as we all must remember the most Merciful One and the One who has created us all. You can do this by reciting some Duas (like the ones on my website) or even by attempting to learn the 99 names of Allah.

Give to charity

Some people prefer to give Zakah during the month of Ramadan as it gives more rewards. If possible, try to give a little charity every day of Ramadan, and you could In Sha Allah be loved by the poor and Allah.

Pray in the mosque

Praying with the Ummah raises your spirits of Ramadan as we all are going through fasting and we can feel each other’s struggles of fasting. By praying in the mosque, you can talk to other Muslims, get Islamic advice and also motivate others to attend the mosque.

Pray in Laylatul Qadr

Laylatul Qadr falls in one of the odd nights in the last ten days of Ramadan. Since we don’t know the exact date, we must try to especially pray during the last 10 days of Ramadan, so our prayers fall on that day. All of your previous sins can be forgiven if you pray in Laylatul Qadr and you can gain huge rewards.

Exhibit good manners

Good manners are always important regardless of the time of year, religion, age or gender. During Ramadan, however, you should try your best to forgive others, be kind and prevent backbiting/swearing.

Do a Private Act of Worship

A Private Act of Worship is doing something for the sake of Allah and not telling anyone in order to gain the reward. Intentions are really important for all actions, especially in Islam. Sometimes, we subconsciously end up showing off our actions and we lose the reward for it. Therefore, we should try doing something like helping someone or saying Duas at our own time without telling anyone.

Read the Qur’an

Reading every letter of the Quran can give outstanding rewards. Imagine reading even two or three pages every day – it could change your scales for the Hereafter.

Feed a fasting person

“Whoever feeds the person who is breaking his fast, he will have his reward (for his fasting) without decreasing anything from the reward of the fasting person.” — Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Say your Salams

You can gain many rewards just for greeting your family members, relatives or any Muslim. By average, you can probably greet around 10 people every day.

Volunteer

Volunteering without anything in return could be amazing. You could tutor someone without pay, help someone, help in the mosque, the animal shelter…the list is endless.

Make others happy

Make others happy by smiling at them, complimenting them with sincerity or just thanking them for what they have done. The person could make Dua for you and you may gain rewards.

Perform I’tikaaf

I’tikaaf is a beautiful night of prayer, performing it will leave you feeling peaceful.

Spend time with your loved ones

Ramadan is a time to spend time with your loved ones, get closer and eat Iftar and Suhoor together. This can strengthen bonds.

Share your knowledge

Gain rewards by sharing good knowledge about topics such as the Prophets stories or whatever good you know (like this article).

That was my article for today about 15 things that you can do in order to gain immense rewards this Ramadan. If this article helped you, please share it with your family and friends as you will In Sha Allah get the reward too if they implement good actions too. Remember that every action comes with an intention so try to be sincere and humble this Ramadan. If you liked this article, check out my other articles:

How to Keep Healthy While Fasting During Ramadan 2019// My Ramadan Series https://surobiscribbles.com/how-to-keep-healthy-while-fasting-during-ramadan-2019-my-ramadan-series/ Sat, 27 Apr 2019 12:27:07 +0000 http://surobiscribbles.com/?p=214

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said:

‘Eat Suhoor, for in Suhoor there is blessing.’ [Sunan Al-Nasa’i.]

Have you ever realised that you are very hungry throughout the daylight hours of Ramadan? And then you end up having a food coma after eating Iftar? This is not very healthy during Ramadan as you are not following the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). In order to feel more energetic and healthy during Ramadan, and if you are also trying to maintain or lose your weight, I would recommend reading this article.

These tips are based upon my research through Youtube and the Internet, and some information is from my own experience.

Never skip Suhoor – As said in the Hadith above, it is extremely important to have Suhoor. This will help you to not feel hungry throughout the day, earn blessings and let you fuel up on energy and nutrients.

Avoid overeating – This is a simple tip yet it’s so helpful to keep you healthy during Ramadan.

Stay hydrated – Staying hydrated is vital to keep on going through the day. Water is the best choice so try to drink at least 8-12 cups of water per day.

Avoid working out during the fasting hours – This is useful as your energy levels can drastically decrease while fasting so instead, try to work out like 2-3 hours after Iftar, to digest the food. Drink lots of water during your workout.

Make sure to have your medicines correctly – If you are pregnant, or you have certain medicines to intake throughout the day, you should consult your doctor before fasting to know when you will have those medicines. You should adapt fasting to your physical condition.

This table will hopefully help you understand some meals or food that would be good and bad to take during Iftar and Suhoor, to keep more energetic and healthy during Ramadan. Use this table to your own risk.

Complex carbohydrates like oats or lentils
to keep your blood sugar steady
Sugary and processed foods. They won’t give you the energy needed.
High-fibre foods like dates, cereal and lots of fruit. These are digested slowly, keeping you full for longerCaffeinated drinks
Protein-rich foods like eggs or meat which could replenish your energy throughout
the day.
Deep frying/oily/junk food
Fruits and vegetablesReplace fried foods with grilled foods
Soups are good to give you nutrients and
keep you hydrated
Add seeds and yoghurts to your meals to
give you your vitamins

Take your meals slowly. Start with some water, a few dates, and after a few minutes, start your meal, which could be a soup with vegetables. Incorporate some lean protein and go from there. Eat slowly and make sure to monitor your sugar levels if you are diabetic.

That was my article today on how to keep healthy and energetic during Ramadan. I hope this helps you. In Sha Allah, more articles will be coming soon so stay tuned. Use these tips to your own risk. Check out my other Ramadan articles too:

“When Ramadan enters, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed and the devils are chained.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Ramadan is approaching and I want to ensure that we are all ready for this blessed month. I want to make sure we make the most out of this Ramadan by making Dua, praying, reading the Quran, fasting and doing these small things. It can make a big difference in this life and the Hereafter.

Today, I would like to share with you 10 tips to help you kickstart into a beautiful Ramadan. By incorporating this routine into your daily routine now can help you continue these habits during and even after Ramadan. In Sha Allah, you will learn something from this article.

Tip 1: Make the intention (Niyyah)

Before you start Ramadan and changing your routine to hopefully become a better person, it is important to touch your soul, close your eyes and think about why you are a Muslim. Why are you going to fast this Ramadan? Why do you believe in Allah, the Quran, Hadiths, the Prophets and all that Allah has said? These questions will make you feel mindful and make you feel grateful for all that you have which will give you purpose to start Ramadan.

Tip 2: Download the Muslim Pro App (not sponsored)

Muslim Pro is a free app for mobile devices. This app is the best Islamic app I could possibly find and I would suggest for you to install it. It includes a fasting tracker, praying tracker, prayer times, Quran, Qibla, 99 names of Allah and so much more. It will definitely help you as you can listen to the Quran recitations or know the direction to pray anytime, anywhere.

Tip 3: Have a Ramadan journal

I bought myself an A5 notebook last year for Ramadan and it helped me so much. Alongside the Muslim Pro app, you can use this journal to track the days you have fasted, prayed and also track any goals or habits that you want to fulfil this Ramadan. You can even use the same journal every year.

Tip 4: Create a routine

Using the Ramadan journal, I would also advise for you to create a routine. This is crucial especially as a student. You must know when you will come back after school/work, pray, read the Quran, cook your meals and so on. This will allow you to manage your time properly.

Tip 5: Plan events after Ramadan

If you are planning to go on a trip or have any major events, I would advise you to save it for after Ramadan. It will help you to not get tired and do any major tasks while fasting. You will have more time to focus on Islam.

Tip 6: Practise sleeping habits

During Ramadan, your sleep schedule will be very different from your daily routine. This is since you will have to wake up for Suhoor. After creating that routine, try following those sleeping habits a few days before Ramadan.

Tip 7: Buy your groceries for your meals

Whether it’s your parents or you doing the shopping for the food you will be eating in Ramadan, do it a few days beforehand to ensure that you have everything ready and you won’t have to go shopping while fasting.

Tip 8: Try to go Eid shopping

If you don’t fancy going to look for your Eid outfits while fasting on a hot day, then you may as well look for it beforehand. Have your Eid outfit ready so it’s there ready for you to wear on Eid day.

Tip 9: Forgive people

We all know that talking bad about others and swearing can break your fast. To prevent having negative thoughts about others, try apologising to the people you have done wrong to and forgive people. It will help you get the full reward in Ramadan and you may also make some new friends.

Tip 10: Practise habits and goals that you want to accomplish in Ramadan

Why wait for Ramadan when you can start praying regularly and accomplishing these habits from now? Your aim is to not only be a good Muslim DURING Ramadan, but you also want to do this AFTER Ramadan.

These were some tips that I have tried to implement. Use these as you like but In Sha Allah, you will be able to implement at least a tip or two.

How You Can Make The Most Out Of This Ramadan 2019 // My Ramadan Series https://surobiscribbles.com/how-you-can-make-the-most-out-of-this-ramadan-2019-my-ramadan-series/ Fri, 29 Mar 2019 18:29:59 +0000 http://surobiscribbles.com/?p=186

Clocks are ticking – there is approximately a month left till Ramadan 2019. Whether you are a Muslim or a non-Muslim, you are welcome to Ramadan. For Muslims, it is a spiritually blessed month to remember and embrace, where you can grab some rewards for your Hereafter. For non-Muslims, it is a time of discovery and learning new things as you see your Muslim friends fast.

Today, I will try to help you understand what Ramadan really is as well as my upcoming web series about Ramadan.

What is Ramadan?

Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar, where Muslims all around the world observe fasting. This month is so special because it was the month that the last prophet, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was given the first revelation of the Quran. Therefore, blessings are widespread throughout this month and Muslims try to stop their bad habits. It truly is a peaceful month.

How long is Ramadan?

Ramadan lasts for approximately 29-30 days. Ramadan is observed from dawn to sunset. You eat before Fajr prayer, fast from Fajr till the Maghrib prayer and break your fast by saying the Dua at Maghrib time. Alongside this, you must also pray and read the Qur’an.

Why do we fast in Ramadan?

There are many reasons why Muslims fast in Ramadan. If you fast, you attain Taqwa which is self-consciousness. You are self conscious about what you are doing, the duties you are fulfilling for Allah and you also try to forget about materialistic things. You feel your empty stomach and your thirsty throat but the remembrance of Allah and saying His name is food for your soul. You also feel how the poor and needy feel in a daily basis so Ramadan is also a time for Muslims to give charity, particularly Zakah.

It is a very spiritual time where sins are forgiven and blessings can be earned. It allows you to reflect on all that you have done, and the way you know that your Ramadan has been accepted is by folowing these good habits like praying, giving to charity and being nice to others even after Ramadan.

Who fasts in Ramadan?

All Muslims fast in Ramadan but there are a few exceptions such as the sick people who need regular medication or fasts with difficulty like an old man. Travellers travelling long distances, pregnant, breastfeeding, menstruating, old or young children who haven’t hit puberty yet. Refer to Imams and Islamic websites for more information about this.

How can you earn many blessings and make the most out of this Ramadan?

In Sha Allah, in order to help as many Muslims and non-Muslims to gain rewards and know more about this holy month, I will be starting a series on this website about Ramadan. Some topics I will be talking about are:

  • How to gain more rewards
  • How to revise as fasting students

And many more…

If you want this month to be connected to Allah, stay tuned on this website for upcoming articles In Sha Allah. I will try my best (as a student) to upload articles about Ramadan for the next couple of weeks, leading up to and during Ramadan.

All the information I have said today is what I know but Allah knows best.

I am extremely excited for us to go on this beautiful journey of Ramadan In Sha Allah. Check out my other articles too to get a feel of this website:
