Little did I know that six years later for Eid 2022, I would return to the same restaurant, eat the food and write a review for it on my own website. Alhamdulillah.

In this article, I will be sharing my review on Wazir Restaurant, a Turkish restaurant in Ilford. Was it really that genuine Turkish food I was looking for?

What is Wazir Restaurant?

Wazir Restaurant is known to be a Turkish restaurant, where they sell relaxed Turkish Mediterranean and Persian grilled dishes and takeaway options. It is located in Ilford.

What I Ordered And My Opinions On It:

Lamb Special Platter (£29.99)

The Food in Wazir Restaurant

This platter was absolutely amazing! It contained a lamb shish (one skewer), Adana (1 skewer), Koubideh (2 skewers) and lamb shawarma (complimentary), according to the online menu. It looked very inviting and had a shine to it. Altogether, the food was absolutely flavourful, the meat was juicy and succulent and it was what we expected. I was happy and would rate it a good ⅘.

The Place:

The place looked quite posh compared to other Turkish restaurants I have been to. It was very large in size so it is good for small and large families. There were nice lights and my sister and I took a seat next to the windows, which allowed natural light to come in.

The Service:

There were many staff members available for Eid day, and I felt sorry for them having to work on Eid day. It was quite busy and there were small delays when asking for the bill, but overall, the service was pretty smooth and the staff members were nice.

Would I Recommend It?

I would say that overall, I would recommend coming here as it does give off that classy vibe which other Turkish restaurants might not have. This experience makes the price go up on the high end as you do have to pay a service charge but you get a free Turkish tea afterwards. I would say it is worth coming here for the experience as the food is pretty similar to other Turkish restaurants.

My Rating: 4/5

My Rating System:

⅕ – was below average and would not recommend even trying once

⅖ – the food was average and would not recommend trying

⅗ – the food was delicious but would recommend trying maximum once

⅘ – the food was really good and would recommend trying here

5/5 – the food was outstanding and is one of my favourites!

The Halal Guys Restaurant Review / The Best Restaurant in London? https://surobiscribbles.com/the-halal-guys-restaurant-review-the-best-restaurant-in-london/ Mon, 18 Oct 2021 21:55:41 +0000 http://surobiscribbles.com/?p=1311 One day, my sister and I had a trip to Central London and my sister found this restaurant that was known to be one of the best in London. It was called ‘The Halal Guys’. As we entered, we realised a pop of colour and we decided to try it out. But is it overrated?

What is The Halal Guys?

The Halal Guys sell authentic American Halal food. They also have Middle-Eastern style dishes.

Combo Gyro Platter with Hummus (£9.00)

My sister and I got one platter each and we did not regret it! The appearance was so colourful and it looked so appetising that I wanted to dig in instantly. The execution was what it was promised but I expected it to be less veggie. In terms of taste, it was delicious! I could feel the different textures in my mouth and it makes you feel healthy. The white sauce in particular is mysterious and also levels the food up. Altogether, it was a 5/5.

The Place:

The shop was medium size and beautifully decorated. There are a few seating areas. When my sister and I went at around lunchtime, there were barely any people but more people started entering later.

The Service:

The staff were very nice. There was, in particular, a specific staff member who even took the initiative to come up to us and ask if we needed anything else! That was very kind and proves the great customer service!

Would I Recommend It?

Absolutely! Despite only having tried it once, I would try this again if given the opportunity and this is one of my favourite restaurants in London.
