Back in July/August 2021, I went to Westfield Shepherd’s Bush and I was intrigued by this unique looking ice cream. The flavours were different, but most importantly the way the ice cream was created was very cool. I bought this ice cream from the Pan N Ice store with my sister. However, did I like it?

What is Pan-n-Ice?

Pan-n-Ice is a ice cream shop that sells ‘world famous ice cream rolls’. I tried the branch in Westfield Shepherd’s Bush.

What I Ordered And My Opinions On It:

The GOAT

This ice cream consisted of the following flavours according to this link: Oreo, Nutella, Ferrero Rocher and Kinder Bueno – basically some of my favourite chocolates! One thing that I enjoyed watching was the lady creating the ice cream right in front of me as it was like an art. Overall, the ice cream was made into these small rolls which were so cute and were super unique. However, I expected to have been able to taste all the components of the different chocolate but I couldn’t taste all the different components. So, I rated it a ⅗.

The Place:

The place was like a stall and I believe there may have been some seats next to the stall. It was a medium-size stall and there were quite a lot of staff working on the day I went.

The Service:

The service overall was good. I believe that one of the staff members, perhaps the manager, was shouting at one of the colleagues, which could turn away some people but hopefully, that may have been a rare occurrence. The lady who served us was new and she made the ice cream so well for us, and was kind!

Would I Recommend It?

Overall, I think these ice cream rolls are good for Instagram photos and also if you want to try something pleasantly unique. However, I would recommend it only trying it once as I was slightly disappointed about not being able to taste all the flavours.

My Rating: 3/5

East Shopping Centre And Café East Green Street Review / Solo Travel 4 https://surobiscribbles.com/east-shopping-centre-and-cafe-east-green-street-solo-travel-4/ Sat, 30 Jul 2022 10:00:49 +0000 http://surobiscribbles.com/?p=1547 Hello everyone! This week, on Tuesday 26th July 2022, I went and had another small solo trip! After my dental appointment, I treated myself to dessert in Cafe East. However, did this place satisfy my delicious taste buds?

My Experience At East Shopping Centre:

East Shopping Centre is a modern shopping mall in London featuring South Asian fashion and beauty boutiques, plus casual eateries. I liked how it was very lit with pretty decorations. However, it is not as big compared to your local Westfield Stratford or Shepherd’s Bush and the types of shops available are limited. I would recommend going there, as it is a place rich of culture and glam.

What is Café East?

Café East is a cafe located inside the East Shopping Centre in Green Street. They sell both savoury and sweet foods.

What I Ordered And My Opinions On It:

Lotus Biscoff Cheesecake with Vanilla Ice Cream (£4.95)

As I love chocolate so much, I was tempted to try the chocolate cake as usual. But this time, I decided to give it a shot and try a different flavour of cake. I tried the lotus biscoff cheesecake as lotus biscuits taste quite nice. I was asked if I wanted vanilla ice cream or whipped cream and I chose the ice cream (no additional cost). Overall, I thought the ice cream would be slapped on top of the cake, but it was given in a separate cup. The cheesecake was large in size. It looked really nicely decorated and the contrast in the colours between the cake and the ice cream was so satisfying to look at.

In terms of taste, I thought the cake was really good but it tasted a little too sweet for my liking. However, the ice cream helped to soothe the sweetness and was very cooling to have, especially if you are having it on a hot day. Overall, I liked this dish but I would only have tried it once.

The Place:

The shop was like a stall amongst all the other stalls in the Food Court of the East Shopping Centre. There were many seating areas, and it was quite full but there was a location near the staircase where I sat and it was pretty empty. I watched people and ate my food while using my phone or being mindful of the food.

The Service:

The two ladies in the stall were quite nice, as they helped answer my questions on the different cakes. The cheesecake did take longer than expected (like a good 10-20 minutes), so I had to go and stand there and the woman was a little too direct. That made my view on the service go a little low, but overall, they still gave me my cheesecake.

Would I Recommend It?

I would recommend eating here, solo and/or with family. I would recommend having it only once though just because I thought the cheesecake was a little too sweet and the service was a little too slow. But, it was still nice to spend time by myself having this cheesecake, so thank you Café East!

Creams Café / The Best Dessert Place In The World? https://surobiscribbles.com/creams-cafe-the-best-dessert-place-in-the-world/ Sun, 26 Jun 2022 18:15:41 +0000 http://surobiscribbles.com/?p=1497 For dessert on Eid 2022, my sister and I went to Creams in the Exchange Ilford Shopping Centre. I was feeling like trying some new food, so I decided to try a scoop of ice cream with a new flavour. Did I like it?

What is Creams Cafe?

Creams Cafe is known to be ‘the UK’s favourite dessert parlour’ and they sell a wide range of desserts from ice creams to waffles to sorbets. The branch I went to was in the Exchange Ilford Shopping Centre.

What I Ordered And My Opinions On It:

One Scoop of Chocolate Arabica Ice Cream (£2.50 perhaps)

I tried one scoop of ice-cream on a cone. At first, I thought that this was not going to be that delicious, but as I ate it, the flavor of coffee astounded me, and I absolutely enjoyed this dessert with the crunch of the cone. It was executed nicely as I got a nice large scoop of ice cream and overall, it tasted delicious. I rated this a ⅘.

The Place:

The place was quite large in size and it was quite dark but I really liked how there was a little playground for children on the side, but that meant it was also quite noisy. Since it was later in the afternoon, the place was quite empty.

The Service:

The service overall was good. The staff members were nice and they let us stay and sit down even after finishing the ice cream, and also came up to us while having our food.

Would I Recommend It?

I would say that overall, based on my previous experiences, I would recommend coming here as it is one of the best dessert places in the UK and it is quite popular for having dessert. They offer a wide selection of desserts – I have even tried crepes before from here and they were good!

My Rating: 4/5

My Rating System:

⅖ – the food was average and would not recommend trying

⅗ – the food was delicious but would recommend trying maximum once

Bru Walthamstow Review / Was The Food Delicious? https://surobiscribbles.com/bru-walthamstow-review-was-the-food-delicious/ Sun, 17 Oct 2021 11:31:08 +0000 http://surobiscribbles.com/?p=1308 NOTE: The photo in the thumbnail is from Bru’s Instagram.

I have tried Bru twice before and *spoiler* I have enjoyed it both times. The first time I went with my close friend and the second time the food was brought home by my sister. In this article, I will be sharing my review of this place.

What is Bru?

Bru is a ‘boutique coffee and gelato experience, serving up deliciously indulgent hand-made desserts and artisan coffee.’ I tried the Walthamstow branch.

What I Ordered And My Opinions On It:

Cookies and Cream Wafflepop

According to UberEats, this was £6.95, but it was absolutely delicious! I remember devouring the chocolate so as a chocoholic, I loved it. The presentation was also beautiful. If you have a sweet tooth, you will like this but if you don’t, then maybe this is not for you as it is very sweet.. This was a ⅘ for me.

Rainbow Cake

This cost £5.75 according to UberEats. My sister brought home a slice of this cake and the cake really represented the name as it was colourful and aesthetically pleasing but in terms of taste, it was very sugary and it lacked flavour. Even though it was filled with beautiful icing, the taste did not live up to the immaculate presentation. I rated this a ⅗, only for its presentation.

The Place:

The shop was medium size and beautifully decorated. There are a few seating areas but it is quite public. There are also seating areas outside the shop.

The Service:

The staff were nice but very straightforward. The waiting time was a bit long in the shop.

Would I Recommend It?

I would recommend trying this because it was delicious. Make sure to pick the desserts wisely as it may be a bit too sweet, but for me, the waffle pop was amazing and worth trying.

My Rating: 4/5

Black Pepper Grill: Is This The Amazing Bargain You Need? https://surobiscribbles.com/black-pepper-grill-is-this-the-amazing-bargain-you-need/ Mon, 31 Aug 2020 19:34:56 +0000 http://surobiscribbles.com/?p=782 On Monday 31st August, I, my father and sister went to Black Pepper Grill. This was the last day of the Eat Out To Help Out Scheme and we tried some new food from this restaurant. We received SO MUCH food and I will be talking about the restaurant today. So, let’s get on with it:

What is Black Pepper Grill?

Black Pepper Grill is a steak house in Leyton. It sells food from grills to steaks to platters so there is quite a range of food to try from.

What I Ordered And My Opinions On It:

  • I ordered the ‘Black Pepper Beef Burger’ which according to this link contains 2 x patties, cheesy onion rings, tomato, lettuce, mayo, gherkins, brioche bun, coleslaw and hand cut chips. The burger was quite delicious though I wished it had a bit more ‘masala’ in it but overall it was quite delicious.
  • My sister got the same thing, and she quoted it as ‘delicious’.
  • My sister and I shared ‘4 Mozzarella Sticks’ which were okay. We also shared ‘8 Chicken Wings’ which were quite nice, though they had quite a lot of sauce in it and it was quite bony.
  • My father got a ‘Whole Peri-Peri Chicken’ and a side of ‘Rice’, which he said was soft.
  • Lastly, we also ordered some normal salad and just had tap water.

The Service:

The staff were some of the friendliest staff I have encountered in my restaurant travels. They were really nice, regularly checked up on us if we needed anything and also were quite quick to bring anything. The food took a reasonable amount of time to come.

The Place:

The restaurant was regularly cleaned and was a reasonable size (although it was quite long than wide). The decor was quite nice as I and my family sat next to this red roses wall, which was good for taking photos.

Would I Recommend It?

Yes, I would recommend it because the restaurant had some delicious food, the staff were nice and this restaurant is quite under-rated. The food is also not too spicy, so anyone can have it. It was also a reasonable price even without the discount.

My Rating:

This was my short review or diary entry about Black Pepper Grill. These are my opinions about this place. Make sure to check out my other restaurant reviews.

The Urban Chocolatier: An Amazing Place For Your Sweet Tooth? https://surobiscribbles.com/the-urban-chocolatier-an-amazing-place-for-your-sweet-tooth/ Sun, 30 Aug 2020 20:33:37 +0000 http://surobiscribbles.com/?p=777 For my friend’s 15th birthday, she invited us to The Urban Chocolatier. So, on Wednesday 26th August 2020, I went out with my friends to this dessert place, and I had some good fun there. But, would I recommend this place?

What is The Urban Chocolatier?

The Urban Chocolatier is a dessert eating place which has 5 branches across London. I went to the Walthamstow one with my friends.

What I Ordered And My Opinions On It:

  • I ordered the ‘Cookie Dough Mugshot – Triple Choc’. As per this link, it contains milk & white choc chips infused in a double-chocolate cookie dough.
  • It was absolutely delicious, with the sweetness of the chocolate to the texture of the cookie dough to the cream dripping down. As a chocoholic I indulged in this, but I did not end up finishing it.
  • If you don’t particularly have a sweet tooth though, you may want to try something else.

The Service:

The restaurant was very crowded and popular and the service took quite long (probably about half an hour). This was quite a long waiting time but I just kept myself entertained. The staff were quite quick to come but one of them said they would come to take our order but then got distracted, which resulted in us taking the order from someone else.

The Place:

The place was regularly cleaned and as I said, on this particular day, it was quite crowded. It was a bit dark but not too dark. The restaurant was quite big with some nice decor and plenty of tables.

Would I Recommend It?

I would recommend this place if you have a sweet tooth and you don’t mind eating unhealthy food. For me, it isn’t a place I would attend regularly as it is quite sugary, but nonetheless, it was delicious. Maybe come and try only once or twice!

My Rating:

This was my short review or diary entry about The Urban Chocolatier. These are my opinions about this place. Make sure to check out my other restaurant reviews.
