7 Lessons From Prophet Nuh (pbuh) / The Prophets Series Of Ramadan 2020

‘And how many generations have We destroyed after Nuh (Noah)! And Sufficient is your Lord as an All-Knower and All-Beholder of the sins of His slaves.’ (Al Quran 17:17)

Assalamu alaikum, fellow Muslims and non-Muslims.

We may all know the importance of the Qur’an, the Holy Book written by Allah (swt). However, we may not necessarily follow the teachings of the Qur’an and follow the role models that were sent to the Earth to spread the word of Islam. In order to remind you of the important lessons taught by each of the significant prophets mentioned in the Qur’an, I will In Sha Allah, be starting a prophets series. This will contain lessons I learnt from each of the prophets.

This Ramadan, we will talk about our fourth main prophet, who is famous for ‘Noah’s Ark’. Yes,  he is Nuh (pbuh). If you would like to know the story, sources are available below. If I also make any mistakes, I apologise and Allah (swt) knows the best.

A punishment will be sent if you disobey Allah

Nuh (pbuh) warned his people that if they don’t stop worshipping the idols and worship Allah instead, then a punishment will come from Allah. This can mean individually or collectively.

Don’t make fun of others

The disbelievers who didn’t believe in Nuh (pbuh) and instead laughed and made fun of him. Even if you think someone is wrong, do not make fun of them.

Ask forgiveness to erase sins

Allah (swt) is the Most Merciful and He is always looking for opportunities to forgive His creation. If you ask Allah for forgiveness sincerely, He will probably forgive you.

Patience is key

Nuh (pbuh) told his people the message of Islam for 950 years. He kept his hope on his people and kept his faith in Allah (swt). We must be patient for the good.

Listen to Allah’s command

Allah (swt) commanded Nuh (pbuh) to build an ark with the very few Muslims. They followed His instruction which ended up helping them to survive from the disaster.

Ask for Allah’s guidance

When you feel empty inside or you are stuck on something especially, ask for Allah’s help just like Nuh (pbuh) did when he couldn’t convince his people any longer.

You cannot survive without Allah’s help

Nuh (pbuh) tried to call his disbelieving son and wife to join him in the ark to survive the flood but they ignored him and said they would save themselves. Indeed, they did not know that without Allah’s help, you cannot survive.

These were some of the lessons that I captured from Nuh (pbuh). The story of Nuh (pbuh) is beautifully said in this Youtube video and book which I used to create this article:

Please share this article with your family and friends to get some rewards this Ramadan. In Sha Allah you will stay well.

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!
