The first show I watched was ‘The Worst Witch’, a show that I watched a few years ago on CBBC. I only watched Season 1 but I learned a few lessons along the way so I wanted to record it here

NOTE: There may be a few spoilers in this article, so watch out for them if you haven’t watched the first season yet.

Don’t be jealous of your older siblings

Right from the first few episodes, we can see that Agatha Cackle and Ethel Hallow are both jealous of their older siblings. As you can see jealousy does not result in anything, as Agatha gets destroyed and Ethel does not become first at everything.

Competition breeds envy

Ethel, in this season, is very competitive and she is always jealous of others. This results in her always wasting energy in others instead of being joyous at others’ achievements. Therefore, never be over-competitive and treat everyone as your rivals, work together and don’t be toxic.

Don’t chase popularity

Driscilla acts as the sidekick of Ethel, simply because Ethel is a Hallow and one of the smartest. However, Ethel is always committing evil acts so Driscilla has to sometimes do the moral thing. This teaches us that if you have to choose between being popular or being right, choose to always do the right thing.

Don’t be afraid to stand out

Mildred Hubble is the only witch from her family and this makes her quite upset throughout the season but near the end, she cherishes it because she stands out. You should never feel afraid to stand out or fulfill your dreams or be the leader as long as it is right and lawful.

Good always wins over bad

This is always true. Every injustice never lasts and the abuser will be punished in some form or the other all the time. Mildred and her friends face many obstacles throughout the season, but since they strive to do the right thing, they always win.

It’s good to forgive

Forgiveness is vital to let go of anger, hatred and other negative emotions in your life. In the show, Miss Hardbroom and Miss Pentangle forgive each other, even after years of having a broken friendship. It is possible to forgive, and when you do, you will feel lighter.

Never misuse your powers

In this show, they talk about not breaking the code and using their magical powers wisely. However, this can be used in real-life situations too. We should not let our power or privileges allow us to corrupt, exploit or misuse others.

Keep good company

Mildred keeps friends who support and care about her. This allows her to be more confident as she has help from people around her. We should all strive to be valuable people in society and help those in need. Also, you are the average of the 5 people you stay with, so choose your friends wisely.

Sometimes, you need to think outside of the box

Mildred is forced to always think outside of the box, for example, when she saves the school from Agatha. If you are in a challenge, think about all the various solutions before you take action.

Teamwork always wins

Especially in the last episode of Season 1, all the students unite to save the school against the evil Agatha. This shows to us that in times of need, seek support from your loved ones and work together to solve your problems.

I would recommend ‘The Worst Witch Season 1′. This show contained a lot of twists and the actors acted it out well. But, if you are affected by supernatural powers or magic (even though the ones in the movie are made-up’) I would not recommend this movie. Also, it can get a bit confusing at times, but overall, it was entertaining and easy to understand.
