On 1st June 2021, my sister and I decided to try a new restaurant in the world food court in Westfield Stratford. This time, we tried something very common to us – Indian food! As Desi girls, we had pretty high standards of Asian food as we had it our whole lives. We tried Indi-go.
What is Indi-go Westfield Stratford?
Indi-go Westfield Stratford is promised to sell authentic and traditional street food of India.
What I Ordered And My Opinions On It:
Chicken Biryani
This cost £11. Firstly, this was presented very nicely in a nice white bowl and it had a variety of items in it such as chicken and spices. In terms of appearance, it really was very Indian and was of a golden/orange colour. In terms of taste, this was my favourite item. It was really flavourful and packed with the different textures of the biryanis – one of the best biryanis I tried. This was a ⅘.
Masala Fries
This cost £4. This was presented nicely in a white bowl too. It was of a similar colour to the biryani. In terms of taste, I found this to be quite powdery and a bit spicy. I’m not a fan of fries so according to my sister’s opinions, she said it was amazing.I rated this a ⅗.
Seekh Kebab Roll
This cost £8. This was presented on paper, so I was not able to see everything inside. It was quite colourful but when it came to taste, I found it to be a classic roll. I rated this a ⅖.
Mango Lassi
For the drinks, we tried this lassi and it cost £4. I would say that I really enjoyed it. It was a beautiful orange colour which was so appetising to look at. It was also very refreshing. I would rate this a ⅘.
The Place:
The shop was medium size but obviously you can’t enter – it is a stall. We ate in the seating areas available in the court, in which there was a lot of space.
The Service:
The waiting time was about 10-20 minutes which was reasonable for the amount of food we ordered. They also gave us this device to ring when our order was ready which was intriguing.
Would I Recommend It?
I would recommend trying this if you want to try Indian food. I found this to be quite delicious and authentic, but I would only really try again lassi and the biryani.
My Rating: 4/5
My Rating System:
⅕ – was below average and would not recommend even trying once
⅖ – the food was average and would not recommend trying
⅗ – the food was delicious but would recommend trying once
⅘ – the food was really good and would recommend trying here
5/5 – the food was outstanding and is one of my favourites!
